The Ardahan Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) has provided "Disaster Awareness Training" to local police personnel.
Within the scope of the training, AFAD experts explained the precautions to be taken against disasters, correct behavioral patterns, and necessary actions during an emergency. The personnel received comprehensive information on correct response behaviors in the event of potential earthquakes, floods, fires, and other disasters, as well as on-scene coordination, evacuation processes, and basic first aid practices. The main objective of the program is to ensure that personnel operating during disasters can both maintain their own safety and assist citizens more effectively.
Furthermore, the training emphasized pre-disaster preparation planning, risk reduction efforts, and the importance of inter-agency cooperation. Supported by practical drills, the program aims to strengthen field response capacity. Authorities stated that such training sessions will continue periodically, highlighting that raising public awareness against disasters remains a top priority.
