Generous Support Inaugurates New Islamic Education Center in Ardahan

Ardahan witnessed a significant event in religious education as the Nafiye Yıldız Residential Girls' Qur'an Memorization (Hafızlık) Course was officially opened with a ceremony. Constructed through the generous support of philanthropists and coordinated by the Provincial Mufti’s Office, the new center is located in the Karagöl neighborhood and aims to provide comprehensive Islamic education for young women. Governor Çiçek Emphasizes Value of Religious Training The opening ceremony was attended by Governor Hayrettin Çiçek , who began his address by offering condolences for the heroic soldiers martyred in recent plane crashes, expressing grief on behalf of the nation. In his speech, Governor Çiçek highlighted the crucial importance of religious education and training activities for the society. Public Reaction in Ardahan Following the Governor’s Replacement

The Ardahan Newspaper | Since 1995 | According to a decree published in the Official Gazette signed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ardahan Governor Mehmet Fatih Çiçekli was relieved of his duties and replaced by Ömer Hilmi Yamlı. The decision sparked protests and strong reactions across Ardahan, where residents called Forum the governor's reinstatement. Çiçekli, who had recently drawn attention with social media posts promoting local tourism through cycling and sailing festivals, was reportedly criticized by some circles over his athletic cycling attire. However, local residents argue that the governor faced unfair criticism despite achieving significant promotional and social work that local municipalities and NGOs had failed to accomplish.  

Ömer Hilmi Yamlı Officially Begins His Duty as the Governor of Ardahan

The Ardahan Newspaper | Since 1995 | Ömer Hilmi Yamlı, who was appointed as the Governor of Ardahan by the Presidential Decree, officially assumed his office today. A welcoming ceremony was held in front of the Governorship building, where Governor Yamlı was greeted by provincial protocol members, heads of public institutions, and governorship personnel. Born in 1979 in the Ahlat district of Bitlis, Ömer Hilmi Yamlı graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Public Administration. Throughout his career in civil administration, he served as the District Governor of Konya Halkapınar, Erzurum Şenkaya, Deputy Governor of Erzurum, official at the Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Local Authorities, and District Governor of Konya Selçuklu, Kocaeli Kartepe, and most recently Gaziantep Şehitkamil. Governor Yamlı is married and has three children.
