Avian Influenza Alert in Ardahan: Geese and Chickens Culled in Halilefendi Neighborhood

Following a spike in poultry deaths in the Halilefendi neighborhood of central Ardahan, laboratory analyses have detected the dangerous H5N1 virus, commonly known as "Bird Flu." Teams from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry quickly initiated quarantine and culling operations in the area, placing the neighborhood under surveillance for 15 days.

Anxious residents of Halilefendi, alarmed by the consecutive deaths of their domestic poultry, reported the situation to the Ardahan Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. Upon receiving the notice, expert veterinarians arrived at the scene to collect samples from the deceased animals and dispatched them to the laboratory.
