The Governorship of Istanbul has announced that schools across the city have been suspended for one day due to severe weather conditions.
According to the official statement, heavy rainfall continuing locally across the city is expected to remain effective on October 15, 2026. The intense downpour caused localized flooding in several districts. While drivers experienced severe difficulties navigating through flooded roads, citizens trapped in water accumulations were rescued with ropes by emergency teams. Additionally, numerous homes and business premises were flooded.
