Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) ALO 153 Solution Center call center has started offering services in Kurdish, adding to its existing Turkish, English, and Arabic options. Citizens calling 153 to submit requests, suggestions, or complaints can now connect to Kurdish-speaking representatives by pressing '*' (asterisk) followed by '3'. Following this step, some Kurdish citizens and civil society representatives noted that while the service is a positive development, it remains insufficient given that there are approximately 30 million Kurds in Turkey
advocating instead for Kurdish to be recognized as an official language.
