The first honey harvest of the 2026 production season for Ardahan flower honey, a product holding a registered geographical indication, has officially taken place. Recognized as one of the city's vital economic assets, this honey stands out due to the region's rich flora, high-altitude pastures, and the unique Caucasian bee breed.
Ardahan Governor Ömer Hilmi Yamlı attended the harvest program held at the Caucasus Bee Production, Training, and Gene Center Directorate in the Halil Efendi neighborhood. Participating directly in extracting the first honey of the season from the hives, Governor Yamlı received details on the production process from Center Director Sinan Aydın and wished all local producers a bountiful season.
