FESTIVAL FEVER GRIPS ARDAHAN: BICYCLES OR MEADOW (YAYLA)?

The Ardahan Newspaper | Since 1995 |A major festival marathon has officially begun in our Serhat city, Ardahan, with the arrival of the summer season. While more than 100 festivals and festivities are planned across the region over the next two months, a major scheduling clash this weekend has already become the most talked-about topic in town. This weekend, Ardahan is preparing to host two massive organizations simultaneously. On one side, the Ardahan Bicycle Festival—organized for the very first time by the Governorate of Ardahan—promises to bring a brand-new excitement to the city. On the other side, the traditional Hoçvan Meadow Festival, organized by HOÇFED, stands as one of the most deep-rooted events in the region. The fact that both festivals fall on the exact same dates has created a sweet rivalry among locals and visitors alike. On social media, many residents of Ardahan are already divided over the ultimate question: "Bicycles or Meadow (Yayla)?" The newly launched bicycle festival will feature concert events and various social activities alongside cycling routes aimed at boosting regional tourism. Meanwhile, the Hoçvan festival will offer a full musical feast, featuring the highly anticipated return of the famous Kurdish artist Rojda. Having performed in Hoçvan before and being deeply loved by the community, Rojda will once again meet with music lovers on the Hoçvan meadows to perform her most popular songs.

THE ARDAHAN NEWSPAPER TO BROADCAST BOTH FESTIVALS TO THE WORLD VIA ITS MULTILINGUAL NETWORK

While it remains a matter of great curiosity which event the people of Ardahan will choose to attend this weekend, The Ardahan Newspaper—Turkey's internet pioneer in English and Kurdish news publishing—will follow both major organizations step by step. Utilizing its powerful multilingual publishing infrastructure, the network will provide extensive coverage for both events. The Ardahan Bicycle Festival, brought to life for the first time under the coordination of the Governorate, will be carried onto the international stage by the brand's independent English-language platform, "The Ardahan Newspaper." Simultaneously, the Hoçvan Meadow Festival, where the heart of culture and music beats, will be delivered to readers by the network's Kurdish publishing branch, "Ardahan Rojname," capturing every detail in full harmony with its cultural essence. Throughout the festivals, the professional staff will not be the only ones on the ground; numerous volunteer reporters across the region will also share their live observations, hot-take photographs, and video clips directly with The Ardahan Newspaper network. For the next two months, the winds of culture, art, and sports will continue to blow uninterrupted across the Serhat region.
