CHP Group Deputy Chairman and Ankara MP Murat Emir married CHP Deputy Chairperson and Istanbul MP Evrim Rızvanoğlu. The marriage of the two politicians marked a historic first in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
With this marriage, for the first time in parliamentary history, two active MPs serving in the same term tied the knot, starting the era of an "MP couple" on the parliamentary benches. The couple earned the title of parliament’s "first MP couple."
