ARDAHAN – With the arrival of the summer months, a great influx of expatriates from all over Turkey and Europe has begun towards Ardahan. Citizens, who took to the roads with a longing for their hometown, rolled up their sleeves as soon as they reached their ancestral homes
The first task for the residents of Ardahan, stepping into their houses that had been vacant for a long time, was to clear the wild grass that grew during the winter and spring months. Grabbing scythes and shovels the moment they unlocked their doors, citizens began cleaning their front yards and gardens, breathing life back into their villages. The expatriates, who are both enjoying their vacation and already starting preparations for winter, state that working on their native soil makes them forget all their fatigue. As the sound of scythes echoes through the villages, the streets and highlands of Ardahan are regaining their old vibrancy
