The Ardahan Newspaper | Since 1995 |

Disaster awareness training was provided to police personnel by the staff of the Ardahan Provincial Directorate of Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD). Within the scope of the training, AFAD experts conveyed comprehensive information on measures to be taken against disasters, correct behaviors, and actions required during an emergency.

The training covered detailed topics such as appropriate behavior patterns in the event of a possible earthquake, flood, fire, or other disasters, as well as crisis coordination, evacuation processes, and basic first aid applications. It was stated that the main objective of this program is to ensure that police personnel serving in disaster areas can both maintain their own safety and intervene more effectively to assist citizens.

AFAD specialists also emphasized the vital importance of pre-disaster preparedness planning, risk reduction efforts, and inter-institutional cooperation. Supported by practical drills, the training program aims to significantly strengthen field response capacity. Officials noted that such training sessions will continue periodically and that raising disaster awareness across society remains a top priority.
