A notable development in sports broadcasting has occurred regarding Kurdish, the second most spoken language in Turkey after Turkish. A response has been received to the petition submitted to CİMER by Amedspor fan Caner Aslan, requesting that the team's Süper Lig matches be broadcast with Kurdish commentary on beIN SPORTS and Digiturk platforms. It was reported that the application was forwarded to the relevant institutions for evaluation.
Requesting that a Kurdish audio option be provided alongside Turkish during Trendyol Süper Lig matches, Aslan asked CİMER for the implementation of the Dual Audio system—now widespread in modern sports broadcasting—for Amedspor matches as well.
In a statement shared on his social media account, Caner Aslan conveyed that the Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) stated the request should be evaluated within the scope of services provided by the broadcaster. Aslan announced that, accordingly, an official application was submitted to Digiturk (beIN Media Group) and related institutions via the BTK Consumer Complaint System on e-Devlet.
Aslan stated in his announcement:
"It is our most natural right to demand inclusivity in broadcasting and to ensure our fans can watch matches in their native language. We will continue to follow the process closely."
